I met Linda Robison at a Site Build It conference in Charleston, South Carolina, last year.

Linda’s story fascinated me.  Many months later, as I thought of people to interview for my Two-Cent Stories (Will tell stories for change), her unconventional rat race escape struck me as a story that would inspire you.

Linda had to quit a job she loved, when her husband’s work moved him to a small rural town in Southeastern Georgia.  With a struggling local economy, and little employment available above minimum wage, Linda worried about what would become of her career.

Linda’s fortune was about to change, though.

One day, while looking around the web site for home decorating tips, she found a great web site created by a self-described grandma, who was using Site Build It.  This woman barely had enough computer knowledge to send an email!  But she was running a successful web site.

Inspired, Linda took action.  With a supportive husband, and few job alternatives to turn to, Linda stuck to her path.  She didn’t approach it as a hobby, or a get-rich-quick solution.  She took persistent and focused action.
