GOOD PEOPLES!

I wrote this spontaneous post to my FB friends this morning.

But I figure I should share it with my broader group of blog readers.  I appreciate you, and wish all that’s in this post for you and yours, this year.  Enjoy.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY NEEEEEEEEEW YEAAAAAH!

May this year be one of growth, purpose, and fulfillment for you.

May you be a blessing to others, every day this decade.

May any adversity left over from 2010 that we are yet to overcome

Become something we can one day appreciate.  And use to help others.

May it all work out for the GOOD.

May you live strong,

Stand tall,

Fight when it’s worth fighting for,

Cry when you feel moved,

And LOL waaaay too much to be socially acceptable.

May you change lives (including your own),

Live intentionally, not by accident,

Find your purpose, discover your true calling,

Fall down 7 times, and Stand up 8,

Shake hands and kiss babies,

Bob and weave, shake and move,

Do the electric slide, the macarena, the cha-cha slide, or breakdance,

(in the office bathroom mirror),

Be footloose and fancy-free,

AND BASICALLY HOLD NOTHING BACK!

LET’S PULVERIZE PROCRASTINATION

AND MAKE MINCEMEAT OF MEDIOCRITY.

LET’S DECLUTTER

DEMYSTIFY

DETOX

DELIVER

AND DARE TO DO MIGHTY THINGS

(Couldn’t think of other ‘D’ words – sorry if that sucked.)

Let’s not take this year for granted

Let’s set goals, and hunt them down with merciless persistence

Let’s grow from the journey, that we may feel full when we finally reach the destination.

Strap on your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Because we’re choosing the road less traveled.

And wouldn’t have it any other way.

YEEEE-HAAAAAW!

(That’s right.  I said it.)

May God bless you and yours.

And make you a blessing to others

Every day this decade.

Peace with chicken grease.

good stuff my friend

I must try the electric shuffle or the macarena sometime :)

reminds me of that saying by R kipling ‘If’

http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_if.htm
or

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!

THANKS, JOHN!

My mother-in-law has this poem on a fridge magnet in her house.
That’s a phenomenal poem – thanks for gracing this post with it.

Although – doing the macarena in the office bathroom mirror may count as “losing your head”.
I don’t know.

LOL!

if we ever have the chance to meet up, maybe at an Alex Jeffreys seminar, I WILL teach you the Electric Slide!
(It’s an American rite of passage. LOL!)

I had no idea you were expecting!
FANTAASTIC!

No fair – you’re starting 2011 knocking out your biggest goal IN THE FIRST WEEK! You timed this intentionally, didn’t you? ;)

Best of luck with the delivery, and with fatherhood X2!
It’s such a privilege. Kids rock.
