“Hey Newbie!”

“What’s up, n00b?”

Who’s idea was it to start calling their customers “newbies”, anyway? :)
(I think that only happens in Internet Marketing. LOL!)

The problem is:

Not everyone that needs
guidance, coaching, or advice…
is NEW.
Or INEXPERIENCED.
Or has LIMITLESS FUNDS for shiny objects that don’t work after 3 days.

The problem is:

Many of us have taken the
(slightly) longer route
to our success.

So while you may not have “arrived” yet…
You aren’t just now crawling into the arena in diapers, either.

The problem is:

Despite the fact that so many of us bring
amazingly deep and rich expertise and experience
to the field of Internet Marketing,

too often we’re being treated like the golden goose:
Only good for the money we can pay out…

With little regard for actually moving us
from where we are,
to where we want to be.

Don’t They Know?

  • Don’t these “six figures in six days” marketers know that we’re not here to play games?
  • Don’t these “I trained my 7 year old niece to build this, and she made $2,000 in 1 day”
smoke-and-mirror practitioners know, that we don’t want to be
    fooled,
    fooled around with, or
    treated like fools??
  • Don’t they know that we’ve invested too much
    TIME,
    MONEY,
    HEARTACHE,
    LOST SLEEP,
    TIME APART FROM FAMILY, and
    MENTAL GYMNASTICS…
to be sold yet another cheap time-waster
    that further disillusions us,
and distances our LOVED ONES from believing in us???

ENOUGH WITH THE “N” WORD.

  • Enough with the push-button B.S.,
  • Enough with the fast-food nothingburgers,
  • Enough with treating people like NEWBIES.

It’s time for a revolution against

  • the GURU Godfathers,
  • the PUSH-BUTTON Pimps,
  • the “Charge-First, Provide Value Never”Charlatans,
  • the “Throw the newbies at the wall and see if they stick”Salesmen.

Newbie's Revenge

What’s your beef with being treated like a NEWBIE?

Air your grievances.

Share what you’re SICK AND TIRED OF in this Internet Marketing game.

And then let’s forever redefine the balance of power between
GURUs / SHADY MARKETERS / SNAKE OIL SALESMEN

and

SO-CALLED NEWBIES.

How long will they get away with

treating you like this?

(Or am I totally off base here?)

I need to hear from you. Leave a comment.

Tell me how you’ve been treated in this industry,

and why you need a change.

Newbie’s Revenge goes live on Sunday, at 4pm EST.

Gurus beware.

Hahaha great ecover Bolaji.

As for the n00b term, it was actually used waaay before marketing in the computing world to refer to a novice or a person who was just getting started.

It DOES have derogatory connotations but is just that and has nothing to do with looking down at someone who is just new to the game.

Was this a report? I couldn’t find a link to download it.

What’s up, Sergio!!!

ha ha ha… yeah, I learned about n00b being from the gaming world.
In reality, the word Newbie isn’t necessarily the problem, as you and Jerry have pointed out.
It’s more the way “newbies” are treated by so-called gurus.
Like one-way ATMs, pretty much.

One has to wonder why there is such a LOW success rate in Internet Marketing,
despite the selling proposition being how EASY and SIMPLE it is, you know? :)

n00bs stay at the bottom of a guru’s pyramid business.

But we’re about to change all that.

Sergio, I’m launching NEWBIE’S REVENGE on Sunday.

More to come. Thanks for commenting! :) :)

I recently attended a webinar where the facilitator was telling about how if someone was “so stupid to know how to push the WSO button…..they should get out of the business.” A “newbie” was seeking help and instead of getting help, he as made to feel “stupid”. Needless to say, the guy will never be back to the webinar…nor will he probably ever buy any of the facilitator’s products. I have no problem being called a “newbie” in internet marketing, but I do feel bad when soi-called gurus make “newbies” feel stupid. The newbies are the people I like to reach out to…..because I’m just one step ahead of them.

Ok Bolaji, this is officially the BEST e-cover I’ve seen in a LONG time. Hilarious! Even better is that based on your track record, the inside is bound to be even better than the outside :-) Thanks for continuing to raise the bar!

LOL! Thanks, Shae!

It’ll be a fun ride!
I’ll try to offend… I mean not offend… too many people with this one. ;)

Hi Bolaji,
Good topic for a post! Couldn’t agree more. I’ve relatively new to online marketing but have done a lot offline yet am still treated like an idiot by most so called gurus I’ve met in person at events. Fortunately not all of them are that way. Kevin Hogan comes to mind as someone who always treats people respectfully.

This is why I describe my Success Secrets blog as a place where an idea may be very obvious to some people but if you’ve never encountered it before in your dealings, it very well may seem like a big secret to you.

Look forward to seeing the Newbie’s Revenge. That is an attention grabbing cover for sure!

Keep up the good work!

Michael

Whatup, Michael!

Thanks for weighing in… and also for giving the counter-example with someone like Kevin Hogan!
Sometimes it can take a while to find a marketer / mentor that gives you straight advice, not
shiny object crap all the time. LOL! Glad you found Kevin!

And MASSIVE GREAT JOB with Success Secrets, man!

I love your latest post, too:

Great ecover!

I wonder who coined the word Newbie. I wasn’t referred to as a noob when i first started online 7-8 years ago. I already had offline business experience.

Anyway people have got to be shown ther ropes first so the term does not have to be insulting. That said some Gurus have turned their neebies into cash dispensers.

Let’s not lay all the blame on the gurus though as some noobs want to make money yesterday without learning the basics that the guru (who was once a newbie) has learned in the trenches.

Thanks for offering something fresh!

Will

What’s up, Will!

Great insights, man. :)

Yeah, it’s funny how things have developed in the industry.
AND YOU ARE TOO RIGHT that many people want the “quick money”, fast-and-easy
without learning any business fundamentals or providing any real value!

They’re just trying to “ball out of control”, “live the Internet lifestyle”, and
“live la vida loca”! in 30 days or less! LOL!

No wonder these hyped-up scams continue to work!

Thanks for sharing, Will!

How are things going with List-Building-Success.com?

Bolaji.

Hi Bolaji

LBS.com is cool even with the wild animals let out of the Google Zoo.

As you know this happens in cycles.

Anyway thanks for having new marketers in mind.

Cheerio

B what have you done man? That cover is off the chain! Lol
Slightly longer route to success?
Man I seem to be taking the extended scenic route! Haha!

As a I read each paragraph, I found myself nodding my head in agreement with each paragraph and bullet point.
I’m Far from a noob but what’s interesting, and often frustrating is that I have as much or perhaps more knowledge and “know how” than some of the so called guru’s out there but haven’t (yet) achieved the level of success I want and deserve.
What’s good is that you have addressed the problem(s) and circumstance facing many of us and I’m sure you have a viable solution and I’m excited to see what that is my friend.

IT’S DOLLA BILL! THE IRON MAN OF INTERNET MARKETING!!!

LOL!

Great to hear from you man!

Yeah – this should be a fun one.

Thanks, bro!

Wishing you all the best!

:-D … The best eCover I ever saw. If this is a product you sell, the cover has to sell it for itself. I had to scroll up to see it again. But back to the point. I don’t like how we/they treat people who are relatively new to IM. It’s just not fair. Everyone was there and we should treat them with respect. Unfortunately, not everyone would.

Hey Bolaji,

I like how you classify a n00b or newbie in the internet marketing world. It is true though; there are way too many Guru’s who make money off selling n00bs complete crap. I once was involved in buying that crap with false promises.

It can be difficult to find our way in this hug sea of scammers, spammers, and con artists who just want your money, but care a bit about the person.

We are real people trying to make at least a little but of money online. The least you could do is help others succeed while building your own business. That is what I really like about internet marketing, the unlimited chances I have to help others succeed.

You have the right idea…. Hopefully many n00bs read this before spending money, time, and effort on crap.

Take care,

~Jeremy

LOL I remember when I was a noob. Not fun with all the big boys and their toys, lol. I suppose it just take hard work and dedication to be a great marketer too :)
